All Courses: your driving licence. Where this is the photocard type, this does mean both parts - the
card and the paper counterpart. One part without the other is only part of the licence; both parts
are needed to make the licence. If it is the older licence, we do not need to see your passport.
Provisional Licence Holder: If you are a holder of a provisional licence,
doing any course (except a CBT) and providing your own bike, then we need to see your CBT Certificate
as well. If renewing a CBT and riding your bike to the course, you must hold a current CBT
Certificate.
Using your own bike: Where you are providing your own bike for a course, then
it must display a current Road Fund Licence tax disc. This should be on the left hand side in a
reasonably prominent position. If this is not displayed, the bike cannot be used on the course. "Tax
is in the post" or "Tax has been applied for" or anything similar or to the same effect is not
acceptable. It is your responsibility to ensure that the bike is insured, roadworthy and, where
required, has a current MoT Certificate. We reserve the right to refuse to accept any bike which, in
our instructor’s unfettered opinion, appears to be unroadworthy. Where use of your bike is refused,
the course may be cancelled, postponed or continued at our discretion but will entail additional cost.
If you are a learner, then the bike must display ‘L’ plates both front and rear. Each ‘L’ plate must
be standard size and not cut down in any way (except where absolutely essential and then only as
little as possible). It should be stable and not flap around or in a state where it might break off
as the bike is ridden. Please make sure that the rear ‘L’ plate does not come into contact with the
rear tyre when the bike is moving.
Helmet: If supplying your own helmet, please remember that it must have a
strap and be done up securely at all times when you are on the bike. If your helmet does not appear
to be suitable, generally we can supply a replacement and this will be at no charge. If we cannot,
the course will have to be postponed and this may involve you in additional cost.
